DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bobby Gerhart scored his sixth career ARCA Series superspeedway victory Saturday taking the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 while Danica Patrick finished sixth in her stock car debut.
Gerhart was able to nurse his final fuel load to the finish line to score the victory in the season opening ARCA event.
Patrick’s day was eventful to say the least. She ran near the front of the pack for most of the race but also found herself sliding through the grass at one point.
She made contact racing off the fourth turn and slide first up the track and then down through the infield grass but did not suffer any severe damage to the JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
After a couple stops on pit road for tires and minor repairs, Patrick was able to draft her way back to the front again and came home with a very impressive top 10 for his first stock car effort
